A college town in a true blue state, Hamden, Connecticut is often glossed over in terms of general elections. There are no rallies, no campaigning and definitely no presidential visits. But in a town like Hamden, it’s not about national politics – it’s the local ones that count. With just one drive down the main road of Whitney Avenue, a person passing through would see more political signs than they can count – with a range of messages to be promoted. And with just one right turn off a Whitney, they would find Quinnipiac University, a private college with over 8,000 students. With again, a range of different political opinions… and the ability to cast their vote in Hamden.
In this three part podcast, join host Izzy Agricola as she investigates the intricate web of politics in town, discovering why local matters just as much as national.
