Larceny in the Second Degree/March 10
Hamden Police responded to a call of a three-vehicle accident on Dixwell Avenue, around the area of the Connolly Parkway, on March 9.
Police did not provide details of the accident, noting only that the vehicle primarily responsible for the crash hit a tree afterwards. The driver and passengers had multiple serious injuries, and were later transported to local Yale New Haven Hospital.
The police report did not disclose the status of the passengers in the other two vehicles.
The driver of the vehicle responsible for the crash was a 14-year-old New Haven juvenile who had stolen the vehicle a week earlier in Derby.
Police arrested and charged the juvenile with larceny in the second degree. He is scheduled to appear in New Haven’s Juvenile Court on March 26.
