We had soooo much fun!!! <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/qufallfest18?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#qufallfest18<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/Ql8UCQDgoc\">pic.twitter.com\/Ql8UCQDgoc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Quinnipiac SPB (@quspb) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/quspb\/status\/1041175185200738304?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 16, 2018<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">While this is the first big recreational event for all students in the fall each year, students and alumni say it is not well attended and is mostly for freshmen and sophomores. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cThe bands are bad,\u201d senior Patrick Brooks said. \u201cI went to a darty (day party) instead and the school can\u2019t do anything more because it\u2019s meant for freshmen.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Students also say they wish that they could have more of a say in the process of choosing a performer. \u00a0The Student Programing Board (SPB) tells the student body who it has picked for the concert and does not ask for input outside of SPB. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Students \u2013 and alumni alike \u2013 say they have felt frustration about the event for some time. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cPersonally it wasn\u2019t my type of music,\u201d alumna Nikki Hunyh said of the Fall Fests during her time at Quinnipiac from 2014-2018. \u201cI feel that if the school got the students more involved, like ask them what type of music they wanna hear it would be more of a popular event.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Another issue that students say they have with Fall Fest is the lack of advertising by the school to entice the student body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cYou don\u2019t really hear much about it. If the artists are popular, a lot of people are going to go. If they\u2019re just somewhat decent, than people aren\u2019t going to go,\u201d junior Areesa Jasmine said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">This year many students found alternatives to attending the fall concert. During a survey of campus during the concert, reporters found that students were hanging with friends or going to sporting events.  Many students said they went home for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cI just stay in my dorm and hang out with my friends instead of going to the concert,\u201d sophomore Robert Weinfeld said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Whether they like it or not, students say Fall Fest will still be the official start of the fall semester for the Quinnipiac community.
