It has been two weeks since the storm ripped through the island, and Trump defended the federal recovery efforts in both Puerto Rico and in the U.S. before boarding the plane.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Texas and in Florida we get an A-plus,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd I\u2019ll tell you what, I think we\u2019ve done just as good in Puerto Rico, and it\u2019s actually a much tougher situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Trump is set to meet with FEMA, military officials, first responders and residents of Puerto Rico during his near five and a half hour stay on the island.<\/p>\n<p>As of today, only 47 percent of those on the island have access to drinkable water while 95 percent of Puerto Rico is still without power, according to the office of Puerto Rico\u2019s governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Angela Varney President Trump set off for Puerto Rico Tuesday morning to survey Hurricane Maria\u2019s damage.
