First, by joining <a href=\"https:\/\/sustainablect.org\/about\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">Sustainable CT<\/span><\/a> with 400 other municipalities. With the financial and networking help of Sustainable CT, Hamden will have a set list of action plans in the spring of 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Kathleen Schomaker, Hamden town\u2019s energy efficiency coordinator, said that Hamden is pushing to limit food waste and recycling. There will be a separate bin for soft recyclable like clothing and bedding.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">But for now, Hamden is still putting together the list of action to get going next year.<\/p>\n<figure >\n<blockquote data-animation-role=\"quote\" \n<p>    data-animation-override><br \/>\n    <span>&#147;<\/span>We gotta get our ducks in a row first.<span>&#148;<\/span><br \/>\n  <\/blockquote><figcaption class=\"source\">&mdash; Kathleen Schomaker<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Hamden is looking to be certified in 2019.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">For members of Quinnipiac University, the road to sustainability is a long journey. In 2010, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greenreportcard.org\/report-card-2011\/schools\/quinnipiac-university.html\"><span style=\"text-decoration:underline\">the College Sustainability Report Card gave Quinnipiac University a D<\/span><\/a>. The school was graded based on administration, climate change and energy, food and recycling, green building, student involvement, transportation, endowment transparency, investment priorities, and shareholder engagement.
