He was 55. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Yoia served as associate vice president and director of financial aid in his time at Quinnipiac since his hire in 1999. He died overnight at his home in Wallingford. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Many students and faculty alike are devastated by the news. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cHe would really do anything for anyone,\u201d junior Phil Akre said, who worked with Yoia in the financial aid office. \u201cI really hope that people know the kind of guy he was.\u201d <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Quinnipiac President Judy Olian sent an email to students on Wednesday morning offering support services to students, faculty and staff. <\/p>\n<div\n        class=\"\n          image-block-outer-wrapper\n          layout-caption-below\n          design-layout-inline\n          combination-animation-none\n          individual-animation-none\n          individual-text-animation-none\n        \"\n        data-test=\"image-block-inline-outer-wrapper\"\n    ><\/p>\n<figure\n            class=\"\n              sqs-block-image-figure\n              intrinsic\n            \"\n            style=\"max-width:596.0px;\"\n        ><\/p>\n<div\n              \n                style=\"padding-bottom:139.93287658691406%;\"\n              \n              class=\"\n                image-block-wrapper\n                \n          \n        \n                has-aspect-ratio\n              \"\n              data-animation-role=\"image\"\n              \n  \n\n          ><br \/>\n            <noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/hqnn.org\/hqpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/D0WYk-GWwAMF7AY.png\" alt=\"D0WYk-GWwAMF7AY.png\" \/><\/noscript><img class=\"thumb-image\" data-src=\"http:\/\/hqnn.org\/hqpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/D0WYk-GWwAMF7AY.png\" data-image=\"http:\/\/hqnn.org\/hqpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/D0WYk-GWwAMF7AY.png\" data-image-dimensions=\"596x834\" data-image-focal-point=\"0.5,0.5\" alt=\"D0WYk-GWwAMF7AY.png\" data-load=\"false\" data-image-id=\"5c90372ea4222fb12ab729a4\" data-type=\"image\" \/>\n          <\/div>\n<\/figure><\/div>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">In his 20-plus years at Quinnipiac, Yoia was often spotted supporting Quinnipiac Athletics. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cHe and Marcia often attended basketball and hockey games at the People\u2019s United Center and volleyball matches on Lender Court,\u201d Olian said in her email. <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Coaches and fans alike took to social media to honor Yoia as the regular seasons came to a close. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Proud of the commitment of our players.
