This semester, Quinnipiac students have organized many philanthropic events to give back to the local community, including QTHON, The Big Event and this past Monday\u2019s St. Baldrick\u2019s event.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">This annual event, hosted by the Student Programming Board (SPB) and the Irish Club, is an event to raise money and awareness for childhood cancer research.  This year, seven Quinnipiac students \u201cbraved the shave\u201d and shaved their heads to stand in solidarity with children diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Emma Shipton, one of the event coordinators, was one of the shavees. Despite falling short of their goal, event coordinator, Luke Ahearn, was still happy with how it all played out.  <\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cI think everybody really gets behind this event,\u201d said Ahearn, \u201cEverybody really loves coming to it.  It\u2019s a good event even for people who aren\u2019t shaving, just to donate or even show up and watch their friends get their heads shaved for a good cause.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Around 100 Quinnipiac students attended the event, including many supportive friends, like Ahearn suggested.
