Firefighters responded to multiple 911 calls of a house fire in Hamden late Tuesday night at 755 Hill St, where they found 59-year-old man Frank Mangiero dead.
Four minutes after the first emergency call, the firefighters arrived to find the garage and the middle of the house fully engulfed in flames.
When they got into the house, firefighters found the man’s body in the living room. They reported two family pets were also killed.
David Koleslar, 21, was one of Mangiero’s neighbors and was devastated by the news of his neighbors’ death.
“We thought everyone got out safely,” Koleslar said. “It is horrible to hear about the death of someone, especially your neighbor. I just didn’t expect that ever to happen and I have never seen a fire that big before.”
Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Investigation Unit in addition to the Hamden Fire Marshal’s Office and Hamden Police Department t is still investigating the cause of the fire.
After reaching out to the Hamden Fire Department and the office of the fire marshall, HQNN has been unable to confirm any other specific details.
